Cassidy Johnston
Co-Founder, JRC Ranch Consulting
Cassidy Johnston is a first-generation ranch manager, strategist, and communicator with deep experience operating and advising working ranches across the West. She co-founded JRC Ranch Consulting to provide landowners and investors with the kind of operational insight that only comes from doing the work.
Cassidy’s management background spans seedstock, commercial cow-calf, and yearling operations from Montana to New Mexico. She has both practical outside experience as well as office experience: from cattle work and calving to procurement, genetics, and data systems, Cass brings a full-circle approach to the behind-the-scenes systems that makes ranches run.
Cassidy combines a degree in Environmental Studies from CU Boulder with real-world ranching experience, policy knowledge, and a communications skillset that bridges the gap between agriculture and the outside world. She’s also a seasoned consultant for agtech companies, industry associations, and consumer-facing brands looking to understand and communicate with producers in a meaningful way.
At JRC, she leads operational audits, strategic planning, vendor coordination, and communication infrastructure for clients who expect their land to work like the business it is.
When she’s not consulting, Cassidy speaks nationally on ranch management, agricultural communications, and industry leadership. She lives in rural Colorado with her husband, their three sons, and a deep commitment to raising cattle, boys, and expectations.
